Since graduating Evie has spent so much time concentrating on her career as a web designer that her creative photography unfortunately had to get put on the back burner and it sat there simmering for nearly ten years, untouched.
So when the opportunity to spend a week at Heriot Toun Studio came up, she jumped at the chance and brought her many boxes of prints, photocopies, paints, varnishes and imagination with her.
"It was great to get all my work out at long last and let it breath and have the space to lay things out on the floor, stick things to the walls, categorise and group prints together and start to think what images might be created over the ensuing week. I was determined to get a lot done and it was great to be totally self sufficient in the studio and know that I could get up when I liked, go to bed when I liked and not have to worry about work or bothering anyone with my loud music.
The studio is an amazing space and it was so easy to get stuck into creating work straight away and anytime I had a mental block, I just took the dog out for a walk, or invited myself down for a coffee and a natter with Pat.
The week was fantastic and I really didn't want to leave!
