Scenic Photograph of Heriot

JANUARY 2006 - EVIE MILO

Evie runs Eskymo, her own New Media Design company in Fife, and came to visit us one day to have a look around our wonderful new studio and to talk to us about building our Heriot Toun website. She brought her dog Abee along who really enjoyed her day out!

Portrait of EskymoThe site had to be simple, uncluttered and easy to use, as well as being easy to update, as we are taking on this responsibility ourselves.

We wanted the site to be seasonal and show images of the studio and of surrounding Heriot throughout the year. We also discussed the branding and styling of the site and settled on an olive green and a grey for the colouring of the logo which Evie then used as a basis for the site design.

She created a detailed siteplan, like a flow chart, to help explain how the site would function and how the information would be structured. This was approved and she then moved on to provided us with a few mock layouts. We were very happy with the designs she came up with and the build went ahead.

A skeleton site was produced and from this we could see for the first time how the site would look and function. We then had the arduous task of writing content and gathering together images to use for the site.

Evie produced a detailed holding page that went live at the beginning of March to inform the public of Heriot Toun Studio's existence whilst the site was being constructed behind the scenes. We had one full days worth of training on how to update the site ourselves in the future and during this day we added all the content and images to the site ourselves with a lot of help and encouragement from Evie.

The site is now live and we love it!

Below are a few images details of the work in progress :
