The Gifts of Reading

Robert Macfarlane's The Gifts of Reading is an essay on the power of books and how they can inspire and shape lives. Prompted by the Syrian refugee crisis, the proceeds of the book go to MOAS, the Migrant Offshore Aid Station.

This project is a response to the Gift of Reading. Our remote mountain bothies in Scotland are non-exclusive and open to everyone, true refuges for all in need. Copies of the book have been left in various huts across Scotland with the refugees in mind, each containing a land drawing specific to place and a request to be read and passed on to someone else, to keep the power of gifts flowing.

Started in 2016 and still going forwards..

Images will be posted on this page in due course. You can view the works on separate blog here
