Heriot Toun in winter

HELPFUL MAPS

Heriot is easy to find.

Heriot Toun Studio is located in a beautiful rural part of the Scottish Borders. If you're coming from Edinburgh, head south on the A7 from Cameron Toll. Pass Newtongrange and Gorebridge, next you'll see the sign for Heriot just before the turnoff on the right. If you're coming from the Galashiels direction, head north on the A7 passing Stow and Fountainhall, the Heriot turnoff will be on your left clearly signposted.

From the sign at the A7 turnoff to Heriot, head through the village along the B709 which leads to Heriot Primary School and Innerleithen. At exactly one mile from the A7, the studio is behind the farmhouse up on the right. White poles mark the bottom of the track. Drive up the track and round the top to the studio where you can park at the door.

************************************************WINTER MONTHS****************************************************

We've had unusually hard winters the last couple of years and the studio is difficult in snowy conditions; especially getting up the track - it can be very slippy. Also, in a northerly wind the road can block, so without trying to sound like a doom-monger, please bear this in mind when you book the studio. We don't have a vehicle to pull you out if your car gets stuck so responsibility lies with you! We'll endeavour to clear the track and the path to the studio in the morning, but if it continues to snow you'll need to roll up your sleeves! (There will be a snow shovel here.) So please think before you come to the studio during the winter months - you need to be self sufficient.
