There is a large Tesco supermarket 15 minutes north on the A7. They also do online deliveries to Heriot www.tesco.com.
The town of Dalkeith is a 15 minute drive and the town of Peebles is a lovely drive 30min from Heriot on the picturesque B709. Peebles also has the Eastgate Theatre and numerous arts and crafts outlets.
The city centre of Edinburgh is 17miles north and the Borders town of Galashiels is 17 miles south, both on the A7.
A butcher’s van (T.A. Shaw from Lauder)stops at Heriot Toun every Thursday mid-morning.Also sells eggs and yummy oaty biccies!
The milkman (R. & W.G. Anderson) comes three times a week, he also sells fruit, veg. and soft drinks.
