HOW TO FIND HERIOT TOUN STUDIO

Heriot Toun is located in the Scottish Borders, 17miles south of Edinburgh, 17 miles north of Galashiels on the A7.

The village of Heriot is signposted on the approach from the north and south and the sign B709 Innerleithen marks the turnoff (be sure not to confuse this road with the road to Innerleithen 5 miles further north, wait for the ‘Heriot’ sign before you turn off).

Turn off the A7, pass through the village (following the sign to Heriot primary school) and stay on the road for exactly 1 mile, the studio is on the right hand side up above our farmhouse with the yellow gable end. Two white poles mark the bottom of the track. If you pass the McFie Hall or the school, you've gone half a mile too far!

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

We've had unusually hard winters the last couple of years and the studio is difficult in snowy conditions; especially getting up the track - it can be very slippy. Also, in a northerly wind the road can block, so without trying to sound like a doom-monger, please bear this in mind when you book the studio. We don't have a vehicle to pull you out if your car gets stuck so responsibility lies with you! We'll endeavour to clear the track and the path to the studio in the morning, but if it continues to snow you'll need to do the digging yourself - there will be a snow shovel here. So please think before you come - you need to be self sufficient during the winter months.
