Heriot Toun in summer

FURTHER INFO...

Booking and Rates

Accommodation

The studio is perfect for two, great for three, fine for four. There's a twin bedded room and a high level  platform single bed accessed by a ladder, and a foldaway single bed that you can put where you like. If you have extra folk and they're up for it, they can always bring a tent and camp - there's plenty space for tents @ £5 per person per night  (a lovely way to watch the sun rise and listen to the birdsong).

The studio is cosy with a wood burning stove and underfloor heating throughout.

That's the boring stuff over - thanks and look forward to seeing you!

How things work:

  1. We ask for a non refundable deposit of 50% to secure a booking more than a month away, balance is due 4 weeks before arrival. Sorry, we don't accept credit cards but you can pay by cheque or bank transfer.
  2. If you have to cancel less than 4 weeks from your arrival date we'll do our best to find an alternative booking, but if not, the full fee is payable.
  3. Dogs are welcome in the studio, but let us know if you're bringing yours.  Remember we're surrounded by livestock so they must be kept under control please.
  4. We ask you kindly to leave the studio as near as possible to the condition it was in when you arrived. We reserve the right to make a surcharge to cover the extra costs if it takes more time than usual to get the place ship-shape.

Winter

*WINTER*

The lovely thing about the studio is that it's just off the beaten track and accessed via a private farm track ensuring a high degree of peace and quiet. The down side to this is, the council does not clear the track in the winter. Bare in mind that we're in a hilly rural area (altitude 800ft asl) and it can get snowy and icy at times in the winter months. Sometimes the track and parking area can be slippy and if you manage to get up the track, you might not manage to get out again.  All of the studio land is on a slope so you'll need to park your car at the bottom of the track.

So please check the weather forecast and local conditions before you arrive, (and feel free to ring us) then park at the bottom of the track first and check it out before you drive up to the studio. (Bring your snow boots!) We don't have a vehicle to pull you out. If in doubt, park your car at the bottom of the track and walk the short distance to the studio.

Saying all that - what we've described is the worst case scenario, mostly it's fine. We just need to warn you of how it can be in a hard winter. And the plus side is that it's great to be in the studio in foul wintery weather and watch it all go by while you're warm and cosy inside.
